Denver.  The Mile High City.  The Queen City of the West.  Cow Town.  No matter what you call Denver, you’ll undeniably call it one thing once you arrive… beautiful.

Colorado is not only one of the most beautiful places to live, but is also frequently listed in “Best Of” and “Top Places to Live” lists (it recently ranked #7 for top boom towns in the U.S.

Denver is home to not 1 but 8 major sports teams.  The Denver Broncos (NFL), Colorado Rockies (MLB), Colorado Avalanche (NHL), Denver Nuggets (NBA), Colorado Mammoth (Lacrosse), Colorado Rapids (MLS), Denver Outlaws (lacrosse) and Denver Barbarians (rugby).  Denver is also the smallest city to have 4 major sports teams (NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL).  Seemingly no day goes by without another player relocating to Denver!

So, what are the pros and cons of living here for professional athletes?

The Pros

The Denver Metropolitan Area includes numerous wealthy areas that are appealing to athletes looking to build their brand and enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.

Coloradans – in general – are known for being healthy, happy and active people; with quick access to dozens of charming towns and activities such as snow sports, hiking, hunting rafting, fishing and rock climbing, the spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains are just the icing on the cake.

Denver has a huge fan base for all 4 major sports teams (who all play within a 3-mile radius), fantastic shopping, world-class dining and – of course – a local SportStar Relocation representative to support the needs of each incoming professional athlete.

The Cons

Denver, a relatively modest-sized city, doesn’t quite have the allure of larger markets like New York City or Los Angeles. Plus, the Mile High City’s altitude of 5,280 ft can be a bit of a physical adjustment for many athletes.

Colorado also has state income taxes and a cost of living (including housing) that’s rising.

A 6-year-long surge in incoming residents means that housing has become an increasing concern for professional athletes moving to Denver. With area home prices on the rise over the last decade, rent prices have followed suit… both of which have an impact incoming athletes.

The Solution

This is where SportStar Relocation excels; their nationwide network of full-time professional real estate agents (in every major sports market) are trained to help professional athletes no matter what city they’re arriving at or departing from.

Robert Blase of LUX. Denver is SportStar Relocation’s Denver representative; he and his firm have an outstanding reputation for providing exceptional service to the people they serve. Robert has helped several members of the Colorado Rockies not only with finding housing, but also with making sure their life in Denver starts off on right foot.  Whether connecting them with landscapers, house cleaners, private educators or simply making sure their fridge has water and food in it before arriving, Denver players are well take care of.

Robert not only works closely with athletes, but also with their wives – who are often tasked with managing the “settling in” process in their new home.  He’s a boots-on-the-ground professional agent providing white glove service to Colorado’s athletes; for additional information or to get in touch with Robert directly, he can be reached at [email protected] or (720) 600-9035.
